We met when a dive shop opened in our area. We went diving and had fun. We went again and again and decided to form ourselves into a Club in May 1997. In practice, we are a group of friends that get together for diving and social events. We have no Constitution or subscriptions and the only rule is 'no messing about under water'.

When a dive was blown out we were looking for a dive site and we realised we did not have any contacts in the area and were at risk of going without a dive for the want of a telephone number. So we started this dive directory/guide and moved it onto the web in November 1999. It will continue to grow and it will eventually cover everywhere, with your help, that can be reached relatively easily by walking, car, rib or boat. We want it to grow to become a source of local knowledge to you, wherever you are or plan to go. We aim to give you informed choices when deciding your vacation/holiday so we are just as pleased to include comments about a local dive site as we are an entire country.

Incidentally, we prefer not to copy pictures from the web that are covered by copyright. If you are willing to allow us to use your pictures please email us. Your copyright will be acknowledged on our Marine Life pages.

As membership of a club is rarely permanent, and the tax man will want to know if this web site ever makes a profit, we need to state that this web site is owned by: Keith Yardley (94%), Colin Wheatley (2%), Colin Wainwright (2%), Mark Walton (1%) and Maxine Walton (1%).

In the few years that we've been diving together Dogsbreath Divers have dived in:

Caymans, Cuba, Dominican Republic, Egypt, England, Japan, Jordan, Malta, Menorca, Mexico, Oman, Scotland, Spain, Thailand and Wales.

As you can see there are some gaps in our diving world - which is where we would appreciate your help. Please send us details of places where recreational divers can get air/nitrox and good dive sites to add to this web site for others to visit. We would like the site name, location, depth and what's there of interest.

Looking ahead, we're looking to dive in Australia or Truk Lagoon in 2007-8 (if we can all afford it).
