Although there are currently conflicts between, and within some countries, we appreciate dive centre and dive site information for every country for when it is permitted/safer to travel. We are not recommending when or where you travel to, but we want you to have some dive information for when you chose to go.

Please e-mail us with any diving information on any South American countries.

The text E-News by a dive centre or dive club indicates they operate their own e-mail newsletter (at least quarterly editions) and welcome you to join their mailing list.

Thank you.

Catfish, Cichlids and many other fish are native to South America and the Amazon.  The Amazon is a very silty river, with strong currents and can be over 100 meters deep. In the dry season water levels drop 24 feet/8 meters and it is possible to dive lakes that have been separated from the Amazon, but watch out for the Caiman/Alligators and poisonous snakes.
