Antarctica is the fifth largest continent and is covered in snow and ice, so there's not much scuba diving done. You could see humpback whales, Commerson's dolphins, petrels, 2.5 million pairs of Adeline penguins, Chinstrap penguins and seals... but take high level sun screen as there is no ozone layer at all!

Antarctic research shows more snow is falling on Antarctica and the ice cap is thickening. But the temperature has raised so the edges of the continent are eroding, but building in the centre. Ice bergs and flows the size of whole continents float off. Winter in Antarctica is often 50 degrees below.

The Snares islands in Antarctica have 50,000 Snares Crested Penguins which breed in summer. Visiting is limited as there are often force 5+ gales in the region.  There are no land predators so approaching them should be easy. They spend several days at sea catching food and bring it back for their chicks. The chicks are a few hundred metres inland. Sooty Shearwaters and albatross also come here to breed . This is also great White shark territory so look out for part eaten carcasses. The water vis can be excellent.

Seal lions can be aggressive on land and playful underwater.
