The Red Sea is one of the most popular diving destinations in the world because of the variety and abundance of marine life and clear, warm water. It is bordered on the east by Asia, and the west by Africa.

The Red Sea shares its boundaries with Egypt : Djibouti : Eritrea : Israel: Jordan : Sudan and Saudi Arabia with Yemen and Somalia at its entrance.

The water is warm, visibility is generally excellent, you are guaranteed many varieties of fish and coral, and dive facilities on shore and on liveaboards are usually of high standards. The most popular dive sites are along the east coast of the Sinai desert.

Eilat, at the northern end of the Gulf of Eilat/Aqaba, is in Israel and is the centre of a number of dive operations. There are no recompression chambers in the area. Across the border to the east of Eilat, is Aqaba in Jordan, facilities are improving, the diving is excellent.

Sudan offers new, little dived coral reefs, wrecks and a chance of seeing sharks and manta rays, but expect very basic diving facilities.
