The volcanic Cape Verde Islands are in the Atlantic, 300 miles west of Senegal in Africa and they have 400 years worth of wrecks! The island of May is barren due to the constant dry winds, although there are rainforests on some of the other nine inhabited islands in the group. You will likely see many reef fish such as 1 metre/ 3 foot trumpet fish, loggerhead and green turtles, schools of dolphins and the occasional manta ray hiding in the massive rock formations, caves, canyons and walls.

Humpback and grey whales pass on their migration during March and April.
