The Cocos Islands are off the south ease coast of Panama in the Pacific and have some superb diving. They are an excellent place to see Hammerhead and Whale sharks, horse-eyed jacks, creole fish and, goat fish, but the currents make these dives for the more experienced. The Islands are 300 miles/482km north of the Galapagos islands in the Pacific and are part of Costa Rica.

The water can be 27C/81F near the surface and drop significantly just a few meters down due to the moderate currents.
