Costa Rica (Spanish for "Rich Coast") is a land of variety.  Sandwiched between Panama to the south and Nicaragua to the north it has desert and jungles each creating many microclimates. The Caribbean Sea washes the north coast, the Pacific Ocean to the south. December 1st starts the summer season in Costa Rica, this is the dry season for the next 5 or 6 months with temperatures around 62F - 90F.  Water Temperature 78 to 84 degrees F.

Ten percent of the worlds butterfly species live on the island and 400,000 Ridleys Turtles nest here. 

The country also includes the Cocos Islands in the Pacific.
