Kelp : Sea Squirt : Unknown

Kelp/Seaweed

Undaria.

Mainly found in Asia. Considered a threat to other marine life in New Zealand because of its rapid growth. It is golden brown with a tough midriff running the length of the main frond. There is a frilly growth at the base of the plant used in reproduction.

Off-shore California has giant kelp forests which can reach 100ft/30metres high. Warming sea temperatures are not good for giant kelp which grows best between 6-14C and 30m high growing 3ft/1metre a day. Dying giant kelp forests also lose the biodiversity.

Unknown plant 1

The unknown sea weed could possibly be Halymenia Species (red algae) but the exact name I am not totally sure of.
