Green Turtle

An endangered species, seen around Hawaii and the Pacific, but reared in Bali.
Tiger sharks follow green turtles to French Frigate Shoals where the
turtles mate in the warm shallow waters and are easy targets. |
Hawksbill Turtle

Seen in Barbados and the Caribbean.

Loggerhead
|
Nest on the beaches at Maputaland, South Africa and in Mozambique.
Loggerheads have a hard shell.

Leatherback
|
Nest on the beaches at Maputaland, South Africa and in Mozambique.
Shells of mature females are around 6ft/ 2 metres long and leathery. They
lay around 100-120 eggs between mid October and February. The eggs hatch
2-3 months after laying.

Ridleys
|
400,000 Ridleys turtles live on one beach in Costa Rica.
They come ashore at high tide, at night when the moon is at its first or last
quarter. Eggs hatch after six weeks.
