Palau is composed of around 350 limestone islands and is in Melanesia, east of the Philippines and north of Australia. Palau itself is made up of 200 islands of which only eight are inhabited. As the ocean dissolves the island base it takes on a mushroom appearance with lush vegetation on top. Clear blue warm water, and so many stunning fish it's like being a kid in a toy shop. Vast schools of barracuda, reef fish everywhere and schools of whitetip and blacktip sharks. Take a thin wet suit. Palau is mainly coral formations above and below water. There are many caves with interesting stalactite and stalagmite formations. |

Palau is noted for some great wall dives. During WWII many battles took places with 60 ships and 90+ airplanes fought and lost. The coral is winning. So let us have your dive logs of the Blue Corner near Koror and of the Ulong Channel (for wall, shark and drift diving to look at the wide variety of corals). This is also home to some poisonous trees,
monitor lizards and inland lakes which have millions of jellyfish of
several species, with no sting. Thank you.
