Chingford <wreck> |
This is a local dive site that we use for our Novices. It's a very well broken up wreck called the "Chingford" which is located at Sauchihope Caravan Site in Crail, Fife - (permission is required for entry into the site from the caravan park warder). The max depth here is 8-10m which is why we use it for the "early learners" but it is one of the best sites on the East Coast of Scotland, when the weather permits diving??? It is home to a very diverse collection of marine life which includes seals, the ever present wrasse, cod, saithe, ling, conger, pollack, coalies & mackerel ( both in season - June / August), lobsters, parkins, octopus, cuttlefish & very occasionally the odd diver or three!!!! It has a very large kelp forest which "hides" most of the marine life & is an excellent intro to diving in kelp for beginners.
