The Seychelles (or Aldabra Islands) are between 4 and 10 degrees south of the equator. They are a group of 115 islands 1000 miles east of Kenya ,of which 2 have been designated World Heritage sites. There are many nature reserves and reefs. Seychelles are malaria free. As there are few landing strips or harbours many islands are secluded and are best seen by liveaboard. The water temperature is rarely below 24C, unless you meet one of the cooler ocean upwellings. October to May is usually considered the best time to visit.

You will likely see skinks, chameleons and giant tortoises on land. Coral species, rays and more than 200 Whale sharks that visit for around 3 months while there is food.  Photo identification has not found any link between the Seychelles whale sharks and those off Australia .
