La Palma is the western most island of the Canary Islands. These are situated off the coast of Morocco, at the western most tip of Africa. At a northern latitude of 29 degrees, the climate is sub-tropical, but highly diverse across the island. It is one of the smaller of the Canary islands, with a surface area of about 720 square kilometers and a population of only 80,000. There are a large number of charter and scheduled flights to Tenerife and Gran Canaria from where it is possible to connect to La Palma. |
